Dr. Robert Ashton
Licensed Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Bob became interested in chiropractic in high school, while he was being treated for several sports-related injuries. Not only did his treatments help him through his recovery, but he also began to notice that they kept his body functioning better in general. His childhood chiropractor eventually became a mentor, allowing him to observe the treatment of other patients for a variety of conditions, and as Dr. Bob discovered the natural healing capability of the human body, he knew he’d found his career.
After finishing his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse studying Human Biology, Dr. Bob was accepted into the doctorate program at Northwestern Health Science University, where he completed and obtained his Doctorate of Chiropractic.
During his final semester at NWHSU, Dr. Bob did an externship in Dr. Kris’ office. The two hit it off so well that once Dr. Bob passed the boards in 1991, Dr. Kris offered him a full-time position within his practice. That’s where he’s been since! Clinically, Dr. Bob appreciates helping patients alleviate pain and improve their health naturally.
Outside of work, Dr. Bob resides with his wife, Susan, and their cat, Violet. The two enjoy traveling together during their free time. A former competitive cyclist, Dr. Bob still averages nearly 10,000 miles on his bike each year. In addition to regularly cycling to and from the office, Dr. Bob’s vacations also often include a bicycle. His favorite biking adventure is his annual bike trip down the West Coast from Seattle to Southern California.

When Dr. Kris was in high school, he suffered a traumatic back and rib injury. After getting a checkup, his doctor told him there was nothing wrong with him, and recommended Dr. Kris simply take an aspirin to manage the stabbing pain he was experiencing. Refusing to be ignored and dismissed, Dr. Kris sought out alternative treatments and underwent his first chiropractic adjustment. The pain relief he felt was so profound that it ultimately influenced his decision to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
Dr. Kris graduated from chiropractic school in the summer of 1986 and passed the state board exam shortly thereafter. He founded Amesbarry Chiropractic in November of 1986 and has been successfully practicing there for nearly 40 years. Professionally, Dr. Kris enjoys working with patients of all ages, from newborns and toddlers to adolescents and adults. He recently treated a patient with Trigeminal Neuralgia, performing a gentle and specific correction to provide her with complete relief from pain.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kris is happily married to his wife, Margaret. Together, they have four grown children. Their interests include the outdoors, hiking, camping, kayaking, boating, and fishing. The Hubers live on 45 acres in rural Northfield with their dog, Millie, and eight chickens who provide a steady supply of fresh eggs. They also share the property with many wild birds and other wildlife. Dr. Kris enjoys peace, and quiet solitude with living outside the city.
